A full-home renovation designed to bring light, flow, and architectural clarity to a growing family home.
This San Mateo residence was thoughtfully reimagined through a full gut renovation and extension to better support the evolving needs of a young family. The original home no longer reflected the way the family lived, offering limited storage, disconnected spaces, and a layout that lacked natural flow.
The renovation created an opportunity to rethink the architecture of the home from the inside out. By refining the floor plan and introducing carefully considered architectural elements, the design allows natural light to move freely throughout the home while improving circulation between rooms. Each space was designed to feel connected while maintaining warmth and comfort for everyday family life.
Custom millwork, bespoke furnishings, and curated artwork bring depth and personality to the interiors. Subtle artistic details—including hand-finished surfaces and carefully considered architectural moments—add character without overwhelming the home’s sense of ease.
The result is a home that feels refined yet welcoming, thoughtfully designed to support family life, gathering, and the rhythms of daily living.
